We are offering you the unique opportunity to see this unusual village, experience firsthand olive harvest and discover the wonderful taste of Northern Aegean cuisine!

November 21, 2008 Friday:
6:30am Meet ay Yenikapi deniz otobusleri terminal
7:00am Depart for Bandirma
9:00am Arrival to Bandirma and depart for Kucukkuyu on board of our luxurious bus. On the way we will stop around Havran and Edremit to observe local harvest and take some nice pictures
12:00noon Lunch at Edremit Cumhuriyet Restaurant, a classic eatery well known for its hot and cold olive oil made dishes
2:30pm Arrive in Kucukkuyu where you will visit the local market. This market is supplied by the inhabitants of surrounding villages. Admire, taste and buy the local herbs, mushrooms, seasonings, etc.
5:00 pm Arrive to Adatepe, check-in to your hotel; the Adatepe Pansiyonlari. Time to relax and inpack. Dinner will be served at the hotel. A special menu of Northern Aegean cuisine will be prepared especially for our group.adatepe2.bmp

November 22, 2008 Saturday
Following breakfast, briefing regarding the history of olive and its contributions to our daily life. The briefing will be held at the historic Tasmektep building. After the briefing, you will be given your own baskets and you will participate along with the villagers to olive picking. Once you have your baskets full, proceed to the Adatepe Olive Oil museum where you will process your olives and watch them turn into oil.

Lunch is in the gardens of the factory and is composed of grilled sardines, whipped stinging nettle, goat cheese and of course olives and freshly made olive oil.

After lunch visit local factories where commercial oil is produced, here you will see, understand and learn the difference of traditional and modern makings of oil. Later this afternoon you will have first lesson on Aegean cooking! The village women will guide you through different steps on to how to prepare local dishes, dinner will be held at the hotel and the menu is composed of the dishes that you made earlier.

November 23, 2008 Sunday
After breakfast we will go for an hour long hike amidst olive groves where you will see more of the harvest, take photos and meet locals. Board the bus and dive towards Assos, on route visit old olive oil factories. Lunch will be served at Irfan Restaurant where you will sample fresh Northern Aegean fish and salads. After late lunch return to Bandirma and board the 9:30pm ferry on route to Istanbul. Arrive to Yenikapi at 11:45pm.
