Istanbul Culinary Institute organizes half-day tours to different parts of Istanbul to sample traditional tastes. In addition to our “Street Foods Walking Tour”, we offer small-group tours to Kadikoy Market, Fish Market and Spice Market. We visit the street stalls of the Beyoglu-Galata area and sample their delicacies as we explore the neighborhood. Stuffed and fried mussel sellers in the Fish Market, the historical pickle-hawkers of Eminonu and the fish-and-bread boats of Karakoy are some of the highlights

Kadıköy Market

In the historical Kadikoy Market, we visit the specialty food stores of local merchants and sample their traditional goods and many hard-to-find ingredients. Participants can do their own shopping and we conclude the tour savoring the legendary “kup griye” of the historical Baylan Patisserie.

Kumkapı Wholesale Fish Market

In this fascinating wholesale market, we see the daily catch of the fishing boats arriving at sunrise and watch them auction their fish to the best-bidding fish restaurants of Istanbul
