Our City

kiskulesi.jpgIstanbul ıs Turkey‘s most populated city; and home to a  highly cosmopolitan cultural and financial center.
The seat of three empires (Eastern Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman) and now a global city by all standards, it is preparing to receive its official designation as the “European Capital of Culture” in 2010. Situated on a unique location spanning two continents, it extends on both the European (Thrace) and on the Asian (Anatolia) side of the Bosphorus Strait, which is a fascinatingly busy international waterway eventually connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean and beyond. The natural harbor known as the Golden Horn separates the Galata/Pera area (where Istanbul Culinary Institute is located) from the historic peninsula with its legendary silhouette of mosques and minarets crowning the hilltops.
