Istanbul Culinary Institute is located in a modern multi-story building in Tepebaşı-Pera with a view of the Golden Horn and the historic peninsula. It was designed by 2MIM architects and completed in 2007. At the entrance level facing the busy street, a multi-functional space greets the visitor, including a coffee and wine bar and a sales-counter for take-out items and the sale of IstCI’s own products like jams, sauces, pickles etc. The basement level contains service and delivery access, walk-in freezers, various storage areas and lockers equipped with showers for the students.

Enstitü occupies the mezzanine level where second semester students will serve prix-fix and a la carte items under the supervision of their faculty.

Enstitü’s kitchen, located on the floor above the restaurant, is fully equipped with the latest technology used in the industry at large, to facilitate the smooth transition of Istanbul Culinary Institute’s graduates into their professional careers.

Another floor up is the first semester kitchen. Individual workstations and generous distribution of refrigerators, sinks and electric kitchen equipment prevent congestion during team projects. Various types of ovens for bread and pastry baking are also arranged on this floor.

The program’s main educational activities will take place on the third floor where there is a demonstration kitchen for faculty and guest chef presentations, classroom space for theoretical courses and film/video screenings, as well as a small library for books and periodicals about culinary cultures of Turkey and the world. Internet access will be provided for students. The building’s top floor is reserved for administrative offices.
